Mobstr is a London based street artist who is famous with his sarcastic, extraordinary, clever and funny typographic based interventions across walls and billboards. Whether he’s co-opting billboards, battling the local authorities or just having a little fun, Mobstr’s work is sure to bring a grin to any fan of street art. These street art examples are much more provocative works.Mobstr thinks of public space in a city as the areas in which everyone is allowed physical access to. For him a public space shouldn’t be a place for advertisements. That’s why he tries to tell in his street arts. Originally From Newcastle, Mobstr sometimes tells stories through his work while at other times they are merely entertaining. Mobstr is passionate about his work which ranges from the very simple to deeper meanings. His work can be said to be a critique of consumerism, advertising and society as a whole.
In one of his interviews Mobstr talks about his drove him to become a street artist: “Subversion. It has always been in my nature to twist and subvert my surroundings. When I found out the potential of applying spray paint to this instinct it quickly grew into a strong focus of mine.”
